About Jenelle

Hi, I'm Jenelle!

I'm a New Jersey licensed, ASHA-certified speech-language pathologist with a master's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. I've worked in inpatient, outpatient and school settings, with kids from toddlers all the way through 8th grade.

I help children with speech sounds, language delays, following directions, stuttering and social communication, and I love working with early talkers who are just finding their first words. Sessions are playful and built around what your child loves, and I'll always explain what we're working on and how you can help at home.

When I'm not working, you'll find me curled up with a good book, playing music, or out for a walk with my little puppy. I started Shining Voices because my favorite moment is when a child realizes people understand them, and I wanted to bring that kind of one-on-one help right to where kids already are.

  • Has trouble with sounds like /r/, /s/ or /l/
  • Uses fewer words than other kids their age
  • Gets frustrated trying to communicate

The Shining Voices difference

We come to your child, and you never miss a thing

Jenelle meets your child where they already spend their day, so they get the best care without you rearranging your schedule. You stay part of every step.

  • Sessions at school or daycare

Therapy happens during your child's day, somewhere they already feel comfortable, with the school's or daycare's permission.

  • No time off work

No pickups, no waiting rooms, no rushing across town. Your schedule stays yours.

  • A personal summary after every session

What your child worked on, how they did, the support that helped, and one simple idea to try at home.

  • Coordinated care

With your permission, Jenelle works with teachers and daycare staff so everyone supports the same goals.

  • Speech games to play at home

Every child gets their own access to the Little Voices Game Portal, packed with the same speech games Jenelle uses in sessions. Practice keeps going between visits, and it feels like play.

FAQ

Questions parents ask

Do you take insurance?

Shining Voices is private pay. You'll get a monthly superbill to submit to your insurance yourself. Many plans reimburse some out-of-network therapy, but it depends on your plan, so call your insurer to ask.

Can you see my child at their school or daycare?

Yes, with the school's or daycare's permission. Jenelle will coordinate with the staff so sessions fit into your child's day.

Does telehealth speech therapy work for young kids?

Many families find it works well, especially with games and activities designed for the screen. Telehealth sessions use Google Meet: just click the link in your calendar invite to join from a computer's web browser, or use the free Google Meet app on a tablet or phone. We'll talk at the consult about whether it's a good fit for your child.

How long and how often are sessions?

Sessions are 30 minutes. How often your child comes depends on their goals, which Jenelle will recommend after the evaluation.

What happens at the free consult?

A relaxed conversation about what you've noticed, what you're hoping for, and how Shining Voices works. There's no obligation. You can pick a time online or send us a request.

Is there anything I should do before the consult?

Please fill out our short intake form so Jenelle can get to know your child ahead of time. It takes about five minutes, and the link is also in your booking confirmation email.

If therapy happens at school, how will I know how it's going?

After every session you get a personal session summary from Jenelle: what your child worked on, how they did, the support that helped, and an easy activity to try at home.

How can my child practice between sessions?

Every child gets access to the Little Voices Game Portal. It has the same games Jenelle uses during sessions, so your child can keep practicing at home with games they already know. Jenelle will point you to the games that match your child's goals.

What if cost is a concern for our family?

Please tell us. We never want cost to keep a child from the care they need, and we're happy to be flexible and find a plan that works for your family. Bring it up at your free consult.

What if we need to cancel?

There's no cancellation fee. Just let us know as early as you can.
